COP25: LAIF session in the EU pavillion: The first concentrated solar power plant in Latin America: Cerro Dominador project in Chile

During this event we will present the Cerro Dominador project, the first concentrated solar power plant (CSP) in Latin America built in the Antofagasta region in Chile, with 110 MW capacity and 17.5 hours of thermal storage.

This innovative project is helping Chile and the region to a rapid conversion to renewable energies, which are of the utmost importance for achieving sustainable development and for mitigating climate change.

The CSP has been co-financed by LAIF, the EU regional blending facility that mobilises and leverages sustainable public and private investments to improve economic, social and environmental development, including mitigation and adaptation to climate change in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Therefore, this side-event at COP25 will be also the occasion to discuss new investment opportunities and new financing mechanisms devised to address climate change challenges in Latin America.
