Conecta for Guatemala
This project led by COFIDES addresses Guatemala’s needs to promote financial inclusion and accelerate a just green transition and an Inclusive Digital Transformation, while creating local added value and promoting growth, employment and quality jobs, financial inclusion and social cohesion in the MSME’s Finance and GreenTech sector.
The project promotes the development of the Guatemalan MSMEs ecosystem - especially microenterprises and Small and Growing Businesses - from a green and digital transition perspective to catalyze innovative proposals at scale and foster innovation. The action extends to the entire Guatemalan territory, but special attention is given to the municipalities of the Motagua River Basin and the department of Petén. Moreover, the project will specifically focus on supporting women-led enterprises.
ConectaxG is expected to reach at least 79,000 beneficiaries, of which around 70% are women. Particularly, the project shall achieve the following results:
- 55 MSMEs shall strengthen their digital transformation;
- 63,673 entrepreneurs/MSMEs will be served outside capital;
- 60 innovative companies shall report an expansion of their clients and 20 MSMEs an increase in their international trade flows or their entry into a new market;
- 7,627 green/circular economy bankable business plans shall be developed;
- 85 entities shall adopt business innovative processes/products and 658 entities shall adopt new green/ sustainable production practices, processes and equipment.
