The COVID-19 crisis has hit Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) harder than any other region in the world, largely because of its pre-existing economic and social weaknesses. As LAC countries chart their paths to recovery, how can development models evolve to break the vicious circles that held them back even before the crisis struck? And since national responses alone are not enough to overcome a crisis of global scale, what new international partnerships can support a long-term recovery?

At this critical juncture, the Latin America & Caribbean Dialogues will assess the policy priorities for the region in areas including trade and global value chains; social protection systems; healthcare; and regional and international partnerships. This series of webinars, organised in the framework of the EU Facility on Development in Transition with key stakeholders in the region, is an opportunity to take stock of valuable experiences and ideas for a sustainable and inclusive recovery in LAC. An endeavour that will also contribute to strengthening the longstanding partnership between LAC and Europe.
